This sculpture is a direct cast of the marble original of Caroline Amalie, commissioned by her husband King Christian VIII. After the approval of a preliminary sketch  mentioned in a letter, Thorvaldsen continued to create the final sculpture in 1827.
Our figures are made by hand using high quality natural marble stone therefor each piece is unique and may slightly be different in shape and color.
