Canova has represented the Goddess Concordia to whom honours were paid in Olympia by the ancient Greeks, in the likeness of the Empress Maria Luisa. She is seated on a richly ornamental throne, majestically attired in a rich tunic, with ample folds, skillfully disposed and covering her whole person. This cast is considered to be technically one of Canova’s masterpieces.
